Dear friends and neighbors, CELL is once again celebrating our community’s agricultural bounty with a Local Abundance Festival on Oct. 20. The day will start with food workshops from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and from 8 to 10 p.m. we will have some music to kick up your heels. We invite you to create a dish to donate to the occasion. And since our localization group is very interested in strengthening community and neighborhood ties, we are trying something a little different this year. We invite you to come together to prepare your contributions in your neighbors’ kitchens. This will save resources and space and could be a good time! We will be filling a certain amount of salad, grain, meat, dairy, starches, dessert on a first come first pick basis. So if you are thinking about donating a dish for about 20 people call Carolyn, 937-0020 soon. We served 225 people last year and from the interest already expressed hope to serve about 350 this year!
